Eat like a Champion  -  Lora Fachie MBE

Cook along with Paralympic world champion Lora Fachie MBE who shares her tips on one pot cooking as a blind person and advice on how to prepare simple but tasty and nutritious meals. After much success, sessions now run monthly with a regular following. Delivered via Zoom, Lora discusses sporting success and her preparations for the Commonwealth Games. There are opportunities to chat and ask questions whilst you listen or cook along with Lora.

Each recipe is simple and easy to prepare, using only one pan. Lora explains the nutrition behind the dish and why it is good for you while you cook. She will also share plenty of advice on how to cook confidently and safely when visually impaired.

All recipes can be adapted to suit dietary requirements so please get in touch if you have any questions.

More about Lora
Lora has been blind from birth. She has a hereditary sight loss condition which affects her mum and brothers as well. Growing up her mum taught her to cook and she recognises that not everyone living with sight loss has been as fortunate. She has set up her blog, Blindingly Good Food to share her tips to hopefully encourage more visually impaired people to feel comfortable and confident around the kitchen.

Sport has always been a big passion of Lora’s and she has been on the British para-cycling team for 11 years. She races on the back of a tandem. Within that time she has been a world champion three times and is current Paralympic champion.

To remain at an elite level of sport good nutrition is obviously a high priority and so being able to prepare lots of quick and healthy meals is very important. The five recipes you will learn to cook will use a variety of nutritious ingredients.
